For Carl DeWitt, songwriting began as a personal escape during his teenage years in Northeast Pennsylvania. At sixteen, he started turning his thoughts, emotions, and experiences into songs while trying to make sense of the world around him. He also sang in his high school choir and strengthened his voice by carefully studying songs on the radio. Carl would practice each track repeatedly until he understood the timing and delivery, eventually discovering that he could adapt his voice to match the styles of different performers.

Carl initially found inspiration in rock and roll and developed a special love for the blues. As he grew older, country music began speaking to him in a deeper way. Influenced by performers such as Hank Williams Jr. and Alabama, he followed his instincts and wrote his first country song. Like everything he creates, the song came to him naturally. Carl describes his music as Heaven sent and believes every song carries a purpose that extends beyond his own story.

Determined to find out whether the song had potential, Carl brought the recording to a local country radio station. He expected only to ask the receptionist for her opinion, but she introduced him to the station manager instead. After listening to the song several times, the manager praised Carl’s work and advised him to secure its copyright. Carl later shared the recording on social media, where it received more than 300 views through word of mouth. Inspired by the support he has received, Carl DeWitt now hopes to bring his music to listeners around the world and pursue his dream of Grammy recognition.
