From Congolese Refugees to African Hitmakers: The Unstoppable Rise of Brotherz Muzik

Magloire and Gaston Chishugi, the blood brothers behind Brotherz Muzik, were born in Goma, North Kivu in the Democratic Republic of Congo with music flowing through their veins. Raised by parents who directed a church choir, the siblings discovered their musical talents early, performing in local church services and quickly becoming community favorites. Their breakthrough came when a pastor invited them to perform live on a Goma radio station, catapulting them into the public spotlight and leading to performances across schools throughout the region.

Their journey took a challenging turn when conflict forced their family to flee Congo, resettling as refugees in Kampala, Uganda. Despite facing language barriers and the difficulties of building a new life, music remained their constant companion. A fortunate opportunity arose when they joined a refugee program that included a music band, allowing them to learn English while nurturing their artistic passion. When this band eventually disbanded, the brothers made the definitive decision to launch Brotherz Muzik as an independent duo.

Driven by determination and resilience, Brotherz Muzik quickly gained recognition with their debut single "WANAJUA" ("They Know"), followed by successful releases including "PESA NGAI" ("Give Me"), "MALINGA," and "ABRICATA." Their career-defining collaboration with East African star Sheebah on "TOMORROW" – with its powerful message about life's uncertainties – resonated deeply with audiences, earning multiple awards and establishing them as prominent figures in the regional music scene.

The duo has maintained their momentum with distinctive singles including "WHY," "MPAKO," "GUN," "KATIKA," "STAMINA," "DON'T GO," and "KILA MUTU NA WAKE," demonstrating their versatility across genres from Afrobeats and Dancehall to Rumba and R&B. Their distinctive sound – vibrant, emotional, and energetic – authentically reflects their personal journey, cultural heritage, and aspirations. Collaborations with East Africa's premier producers including Andy Muzic, Theweezy On The Beat, Nessim Pan Production, Andre On The Beat, and Artin Pro have ensured their music maintains the highest production quality for international appeal.

Brotherz Muzik represents more than just musical talent – they embody perseverance, brotherhood, and the transformative power of pursuing one's dreams against all odds. Their story inspires, their music uplifts, and their future promises extraordinary achievements. Brotherz Muzik stands as a testament to artistic passion that transcends borders and circumstances.
