Kingston, Jamaica - Renowned dancehall artist Tifa has just dropped her latest sensational single, "Say Yes," a masterpiece produced by the legendary Kemar McGregor, known for his Billboard-charting success in the dancehall genre.
Hailing originally from Kingston, Tifa's roots in the upscale Graham Heights community shaped her early years. After her parents' separation, she moved to Duke Street in Downtown, Kingston, to live with her grandmother. Following her grandmother's passing, Tifa found support with her mother's best friend, former Ms Jamaica World beauty queen Joan McDonald, with her mother serving as a constant pillar of strength throughout her life.
Tifa's passion for music blossomed at a young age, nurtured by her stepfather, the accomplished music producer Garfield 'Sampalue' Phillips. In April 2011, she inked an endorsement deal with NUVO, the world's first sparkling liqueur, earning her the title of Brand Diva. Tifa's commanding stage presence at the 2011 Reggae Sumfest Show in Montego Bay solidified her status.
Currently, Tifa serves as the brand ambassador for Telecommunications giant Digicel and Bigga Soft Drink, renewing her partnership with the latter for the fourth consecutive year in 2017. Venturing into merchandising, she collaborated with Sound is Genius (SIG) to launch the 'Tifa SIG' signature headphone line, expanding her brand and celebrity status.
In a significant career move, Tifa signed with North America-based independent Island Kings Records, propelling her hit single "Bak it Up" into mainstream play in America. The song peaked inside the Top 20 of the Billboard Twitter Trending 140 Chart in late 2014.
Kicking off 2024 with a series of hits, including "Doh Real" and "Big Head Boy," Tifa has set the dancehall scene ablaze. Her latest release, "Say Yes," produced by the Billboard King Kemar McGregor, pays homage to Dave Kelly with a popular beat remake. The accompanying visuals are already making waves on social media, positioning the track as the ultimate dancehall anthem. This release is just a glimpse of what's to come, with international collaborations slated for 2024.
