Symone, a Texas songbird, has dedicated over two decades to refining her skills as a songwriter and singer, and with each passing year, her artistry only deepens. Music has been an integral part of Symone's identity since as long as she can remember, with early memories of singing Pattie LaBelle songs at the age of four and participating in talent shows and church choirs by the age of seven. Singing served as a refuge during the challenging times of witnessing her mother's battle with cancer.
Throughout her teenage years, Symone remained committed to choir activities until her graduation and college entry. Despite life's twists and turns, her unwavering love and passion for singing consistently grounded her. Wrestling with the difficulty of expressing herself, Symone channeled her emotions into words, eventually merging her two greatest gifts—music and expression.
"Singing, to me, is when my spirit has something to say, and the statement needs to be as strong as my faith. It needs to reach not only your heart but also serve as a guiding point along this journey I take you on with me," affirms Symone.
Upon having an epiphany, Symone took a bold step to pursue her musical aspirations. She has embraced a diverse range of genres, showcasing her prowess in opera, Neo soul, R&B, Jazz, pop, and Gospel. Rooted in gospel and influenced by Creole and French heritage, Symone aspires to create a sound that transcends through time. Her melodic mezzo-soprano range, featuring light and airy tones, captivates listeners, promising a delightful musical experience.
Symone encapsulates her perspective on music with the metaphor, "Music is dancing in the rain without getting wet. The first day of summer, the first snowflake that hits the air before Christmas.
