Formerly known as MellyRow Stackz, the New York-based rapper RowStacks, whose real name is Jamaal M. Kennedy, has always been immersed in the world of music. He penned his first songs when he was merely ten and began recording in his teenage years. He was greatly influenced by his elder sibling, Sig Smoo of the renowned hip-hop band The Hoodz (currently identified as K Davis the Hitman), leading RowStacks to chase his dreams in the music scene. His journey took off when he inked a contract with the indie record label, Cee-Lo Records.

During his time with the label, RowStacks made notable accomplishments, performing alongside rap giants such as Ja Rule and Method Man, and the iconic R&B ensemble, So for Real. However, after facing personal tribulations that impacted his musical journey, he parted ways with Cee-Lo Records. During this break, he reevaluated his path and eventually teamed up with Woodz Ground Entertainment. Opting to refine his artistry, RowStacks collaborated with producer Marko, resulting in a breakthrough mixtape that elevated his standing in the industry.
